No Fun: Featuring Dorante's Cocina

new LES favorite (for mexican food), I didnt know about their new mexican kitchen but i gave it first try tonite when i saw it on GHub and after checking out their website (good bio on the new chef etc and pics looked very good). I have lived in LA and know good mexican, this is very very good. two thumbs up.

usually order pick up from empellon but gave No Fun's Dorantes a try, very good. gringo tacos tasty, enchiladas hard to find good ones, these were great, i got cheese (no chicken) and they were perfect. vegetarian avocado tacos tasty too :)

Wow! The food came on time and these enchiladas were great! I could not expect any better...

Efficient & delicious, just perfect.

The chicken and beef tacos were excellent, and the sauteed shrimp insane. They were cooked perfectly tender, hard to do for a delivery...and the flavors and spices were fantastic. I got eight really large shrimp, which I think is a steal for the $10 price tag.
This is definitely my new favorite mexican in the neighborhood. I didn't even notice the complimentary bag of chips in the delivery bag til after I'd finished eating but the salsas that came with my food were so good I ate the whole bag (very good chips, also) just finishing up the little cups of salsas.
Fingers crossed this place stick around for while...

I have eaten there once before at the restauant (a few weeks ago after the new mexican menu was put in) and really was surprised by it being very good. Chef is legit. Ordered delivery tonite first time, same good food (very fresh/tasty), it got to me in about 30-35mins and they threw in a complimentary side of chips with some salsa and guac which was a nice bonus. Ive tried every mexican spot on the east side in the last few years and this is now in my top 2 in all that time.

I'm always surprised by the quality of their food - it's a lot better than I would imagine for a restaurant better known for the raunchy bar it's attached to. The nachos are huge and v tasty - usually my go-to when I have buddies over. Tried a burrito yesterday and it was delicious - albeit a bit on the small size. Delivery is usually fast and they use Uber Eats or whatever so you can track the status of your delivery driver/rider.

Authentic Mexican food made with fresh ingredients. The steak torta was perfectly seasoned and steaming hot on arrival . The guacamole and chips were superb . Again, fresh flavorful guacamole made with extra love . The chef definitely cares about his craft and its apparent in every bite. Thanks, will be ordering again soon. Keep up the good work !

So . Damn . Good ! Got the grilled chicken taco , avocado taco and enchiladas rojas . They even sent their delivery person over in an Uber .
I think the prices are fair for fresh tasting , decent portions .
I'm pulling out the stretchy pants because I'm ordering again tonight .
